As you know, the City of Vancouver is updating the Chinatown Economic Revitalization Action Plan (CRAP) and revising Chinatown’s Development Policies.
Proposed changes include height restrictions being laxed (with a maximum of 150′ or 14 stories on Main St), 200′ wide storefronts, and gutting the public consultations (open houses and public hearings), making it a free for all for future market developments. As per usual with consultation processes, the City failed to notify residents in many buildings in Chinatown, Strathcona, and the Downtown Eastside.
After our press conference last November, the City has agreed to organize another Open House, which is taking place tomorrow. Poor people under attack! What do we do? Stand up, fight back!
Join our disruptance tomorrow to call out the City for silencing the voices’ of the residents and excluding them from making decisions about their home, Chinatown! |

It’s important that we join forces, support our community’s longtime residents & rally City Hall for social housing & preservation of key heritage/ history (& make Chinatown a Heritage Conservation Area) If we don’t fight for our rights who will?
