Do you think the City should go ahead with a plan to spend $2.4 million to study the removal of the Dunsmuir and Georgia Street Viaducts? It’s on the agenda for a Planning, Transportation and Environment Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 9:30 am.

According to the City’s report, the viaduct removal would open 7 acres of land between Quebec and Gore Avenue which can be utilized to achieve the City’s targets for new affordable housing units. The report suggests that 1,000 housing units could be built, of which a minimum of 200 -300 (20%) could be non-market housing.
